That being said, since from the look of my hair, I've lost one battle, I'm going to try to win another and that is to post before Friday is over and try to jump on the Seven Quick Takes bus before I get left behind.

Trader Joe's has finally (finally!!!!) opened a location here in my part of Tejas. I'm gearing up for an outing very soon. Any recommendations on what is a good buy from TJ's other than the -- of course -- Two Buck Chuck? It's not terribly far away (30 minutes), but since our regular grocery haunts are all within seven minutes of our front door, Trader Joe's is just far enough to be a "big outing" in my book. I hope to make the most of my adventure.

As I already mentioned, Sebastian is stuffy and has been stuffy for this entire week now. It's just made life pretty fun (big finger quotation mark, folks). If he could only snort it up or blow it out. That is all.

Jacob and I have also been fighting off whatever bug is stuffing up the babe's nasal passages. My mother swears by those zinc, Coldeez lozenges and "hasn't had a cold in years" (or something like that). But I can't stomach them so I was trying to get zinc into my system through the throat spray, the quick dissolving tablets, etc. They all say to not take them on an empty stomach, and I was trying to follow that rule. However, on Wednesday I started getting a little disturbed by the fact that I was feeling so nauseous and queazy.
What is it from? What did I eat? Jacob, how's your stomach feeling? Am I coming down with something?
Not thinking about the doses of zinc I was ingesting, and not being able to figure it out, I freaked out and bought some pregnancy tests.
NOT pregnant. NOT pregnant, people.
Anyway, I've felt fine since stopping the zinc, so maybe I have a good excuse for avoiding Coldeez altogether...

Today Jacob won the best husband award. This afternoon he watched Sebastian as I got an hour massage. I'm such a sucker for massages. Luckily for us (i.e., me), there are Groupon deals out the wazoo for massages and other such indulgences in these parts. They're still major treats, and we're still majorly on a budget, but this was a Groupon that I had been saving for a while. So great. So so great.
Best husband ever:

I am going to be really impressed if I can get this up before I totally throw in the towel. Have already gotten up to soothe the offspring three times since beginning this post.

Darn it. I knew I had enough when I was doing my mental list earlier today.

I just want to direct your attention ...
... sorry, Sebastian calls ...
okay, I'm back.
Direct you attention to this blog and this story/journey about John Paul because if it's not truly beautiful then I don't know what is.
I'm out of here.
